Immunity Boosting Herbal tea

Prevention is better than cure” is a very well-known phrase and our Ayurvedic science focuses on prevention of diseases. Ayurveda, an age-old science, has described different types of remedies with potent herbs and variety of recipes with day today kitchen spices to build immunity and strength.

Immunity boosting herbal Tea is one such remedy which is planned on the same criteria. It can be made from easily available home ingredients and do not create any side effects/ imbalances on the body if taken regularly. 

Ingredients

  1. Holy Basil – 10-12 leaves
  2. Cinnamon – 2 pcs of one inch
  3. Black Pepper – 10- 12 pcs
  4. Dry ginger – 1inch, Scrapped/ crushed
  5. Raisins 6-7 pcs
  6. Jaggary as per taste
  7. Lemon- as per taste.

Method of Preparation

Boil 3 cups (450ml) water and add above ingredients (1-5), boil for 8 to 10 minutes. Now add jaggary as per taste. Serve hot with few drops of fresh lemon juice as per taste.

Jaggery is loaded with antioxidants and minerals such as zinc and selenium, which in turn help prevent free-radical damage and also boost resistance against infections.

Lemons are high in vitamin C, a natural antioxidant which enhances the immune system and has antiviral and antibacterial properties.

Black Pepper: This spice increases the bio- avalibility of other herbs and thus improves their absorption and actions.

Holy Basil: Holy Basil is proven Antiviral and Antibacterial herb. This herb is rich in antioxidants and also helps in reducing stress and anxiety.

Cinnamon is one of the best spices well known for immune system boosting. It possesses very good anti inflammatory properties.

Raisins: Raisins are loaded with many vitamins and minerals that boost the immune system and help to fight against the infections. The anti inflammatory and antibacterial properties of the dried fruit saves you from fevers, infections and other illnesses.

Black Pepper: This spice increases the bio- avalibility of other herbs and thus improves their absorption and actions.
